Newark Walks offers an interactive pedestrian tour that allows participants to explore the city of Newark in a unique and engaging manner.

This tour combines physical activity with the opportunity to discover significant landmarks, public art, and monuments throughout the city. An intriguing highlight is the fact that Gutzon Borglum, the sculptor behind Mount Rushmore, created four notable sculptures in Newark.

To embark on this enlightening journey into Newark's rich history, which dates back to the 1600s, participants can simply download the app and begin their adventure. The tour is filled with hundreds of intriguing facts and features a trivia component where users can test their knowledge about Newark.

Whether walking for health or leisure, participants can appreciate the city's beauty while gaining new insights. This innovative initiative was made possible through a grant from the Prudential Foundation, demonstrating community support for cultural exploration.

With built-in GPS, participants can navigate easily and utilize interpretive signs and pole-mounted trail markers for additional information along the route.
